The Chinese Have Built The Longest 35 Kilometers Bridge Over The Sea

These days, the longest bridge in the world, which is almost entirely over the sea, will be opened between central China and Hong Kong.


The bridge is over 35 kilometers long, the total construction cost is 20 billion US dollars, and there is as many as 400 thousand tons of steel inside.



The Chinese were building the mentioned bridge for as many as nine years, from Hong Kong linking to Macau and the mainland of Zhuhai. The bridge will be opened tomorrow, which is expected to greatly reduce and accelerate traffic between the three cities.



Part of the bridge is also under the sea, as they want to take care for the better flow of shipping. This section is 6.7 km long, and according to the builders, the whole bridge was built with a quality to serve its purpose for at least 120 years. It was also said for the bridge to be resistant to strong winds and an eighth-grade earthquake.
